This material is made from layers of jute fabric and colored epoxy resin. Unlike phenolic resins, this composition offers greater color stability over time. Micarta refers to a type of composite made by pressing linen, canvas, paper, fiberglass, or other fibrous materials together with phenolic resins under high heat, resulting in a strong and durable material.
