I have found this is a good steel for making kitchen knives by stock removal. Relatively easy to heat treat producing a durable cutting edge. However be careful not to over heat as I have had a couple that ended up a bit brittle.
a good piece of Wrought iron, will make very nice cladding on a knife blade
