Application for Timber Protection:
- Ensure the wood surface is clean and dry.
- Mix boiled linseed oil with Diggers Mineral Turpentine in a 50:50 ratio for added protection.
- Apply two thin coats using a brush, roller, or spray gun, rubbing the oil well into the wood. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next.
- Wipe off any excess oil with a clean, lint-free cloth to avoid a sticky finish.
How It Works: When applied to porous wood, boiled linseed oil fills the pores and forms a protective barrier as it cures. This film helps protect against water, heat, scratches, and stains, while enhancing the wood’s natural grain.
Safety Note: Boiled linseed oil-soaked rags are highly flammable and can ignite spontaneously. Immerse used rags in water and dispose of them safely by incineration or in an approved landfill.
