This Hand Forged 1084 Copper San Mai billet is made with a 1084 high-carbon steel core, providing strong edge retention and toughness. It is clad in mild steel with a copper layer at the weld, creating a visible copper line along the blade once ground and etched.
Each billet is hand-forged by Dane Standen, meaning slight variations in pattern and dimensions are expected. The 1084 core is easy to heat treat and is well-suited for knife makers looking for a reliable cutting edge with a unique aesthetic.
