Minimize hand sanding with the 84 Engineering Plunge Platens, available in 6mm, 19mm, and 25mm sizes. These platens simplify the grinding of plunge lines and rounded corners using small wheels to reduce friction, thus enhancing belt life and ensuring cooler operations.
They're designed to leave no transition between the wheel and the 215mm flat platen, providing a superior finish on knives. Compatible with both Shop Mate 2x48” and Shop Master 2x72” belt grinders, these platens feature a standard 19mm spigot for easy swapping. Variable speed should be limited to slow settings to optimize performance and belt life.
