It works well and cures in about 8 hours. Only thing to be careful of is to make sure the item you're trying to cast isn't an inhibitor of platinum based silicone.
I wasn't able to cast my resin 3d prints because they inhibit the curing process. Likewise I tried using bluetac to hold down some parts in the container but the bluetac inhibited the curing in those spots.
TLDR This is a good kit but do your research about what you want to cast first to make sure it will work with platinum silicone. Otherwise try using tin base silicone to make a mold first as it's less reactive.
If you still need the final mold to be food safe do:
make original mould in tin silicon -> cast an object from it using a material you know is safe with platinum silicone -> make a platinum silicone mould with this kit using the new object you cast from the tin mould.
I'd been shopping for a while between my main two suppliers, but when necessary materials were out of stock there I had to shop around. Aus Maker Supplies popped up and had just what I needed. My steel was packed well and sent quickly, exactly as described, and a great price too! I received a nice little handwritten note from Tim and a few lollies as a bonus too. One order in and he's earnt a spot in my main supplier list, I'll definitely be back for more materials soon!
Cheers
