The Maxisafe AirDefence X1 is a professional-grade Powered Air Purifying Respirator designed for workers in hazardous environments where airborne dust, silica, fumes, gases, vapours, and mists pose serious health risks. Combining head, eye, and respiratory protection in a single integrated system, the AirDefence X1 is built to deliver all-day comfort without compromising protection.
DualStream™ Airflow Technology
At the heart of the AirDefence X1 is the proprietary DualStream™ Airflow System — an intelligent dual-path airflow design that sets it apart from standard PAPR units. Users can switch between two modes depending on the task:

Face Only Mode – directs all airflow into the visor breathing zone, creating positive pressure and preventing fogging for maximum clarity.

Head & Face Mode – distributes airflow across the top of the head and visor, delivering balanced cooling and respiratory comfort ideal for extended wear.
DualStream™ automatically adjusts fan speed to maintain consistent, minimum airflow even as filters load with dust, ensuring protection doesn't degrade during a shift.
Three-Stage Filtration
Incoming air passes through three filtration stages — an air spark arrestor, a pre-filter capturing larger particles, and a high-efficiency P3 particle filter rated at 99.996% efficiency at 0.185 microns (TH3 PR SL). Filtered air is then delivered continuously and directly into the breathing zone.
Smart Monitoring & Alerts
An LCD display shows real-time airflow level, battery status, filter status, and charge status. The system provides smart alerts for low battery, saturated filters, blocked airflow, low airflow, and high battery temperature — keeping users informed before any issue affects performance.
All-Day Comfort & Fit
The helmet features a 4-point adjustable harness and ergonomic waist harness system, customisable for long-shift comfort across a wide range of head sizes. The flip-up visor with unlock button prevents accidental opening, while the secure face shroud maintains a consistent seal. Critically, the shroud remains sealed even when the visor is lifted — reducing exposure when stopping to talk, drink, or inspect work.
Battery & Runtime
- Standard Li-ion battery (12V, 4400 mAh): up to 10H at Level 1, 8H at Level 2, 6H at Level 3
- Auto power-off after 30 minutes of inactivity
Every kit includes the PAPR helmet, belt unit, P3 particle filter, pre-filter, air spark arrestor, Li-ion battery, charger, and a tough carry bag for easy transport on site.
